For our Premier League predictions today, we’re heading back to Anfield, where Liverpool will be hoping to return to the top of the table with a win over Wolves. Can they do it? Read our Premier League tips & predicitions to find out what our experts think.
Liverpool just about coping with injury hit squad
Despite having a legnthy injury list, which many Premier League predicitions experts thought might see results slip, Liverpool are still second in the table, behind Spurs only on goal difference. In fact, it could be argued they could be clear at the top, as Liverpool have had more match changing VAR decisions than any other side in the league. Last weekend against Brighton they saw a Mo Salah goal get ruled offside and had a penalty decision go against them in injury time against Brighton – which ultimately lost them 2 points.
Wolves proving their quality once again
Wolves looked to be slowing down at the start of their 3rd season in the Premier League under Nuno Espirito Santo. However, they’ve quietly gone about their business and sit just 4 points off the top of the table. They were dealt a blow in their 2-1 away win over Arsenal, as Rual Jimenez has suffered a bad head injury after a collission with David Luiz. However, as has been proven with their form since Diogo Jota left to join Liverpool, Wolves are a well drilled machine under their current manager and aren’t overly-reliant on their goal scoring talent.
Since being promoted to the Premier League back in 2018, Wolves have lost all fur of their clashes with Liverpool, despite putting in some impressive performances. They didn, however, manage to knock the Reds out of the FA Cup with a 2-1 win at Molineux back in January 2019. The last time these teams met was at Molineux back in January, when fans were present – and 2000 fans will be seated at the Kopp for this match on Sunday. Therefore this is one of the few fixtures that won’t have been played inside an empty stadium during the pandemic.

Our Betting Tip for Today
Having analysed the above information and having considered the return of fans to the Kop, our Premier League predictions point to a Liverpool win on Sunday.
The Kop to cheer the Reds to victory
Inside an empty Anfield, we might have predicted that Wolves could manage to snatch a draw at Anfield on Sunday. Playing a depleted Liverpool side just after beating Arsenal away seems like good timing for Wolves. However, the Anfield side are fresh from entering the last 16 of the Champions League, and the return of fans to the Kop for the first time since being champions should spur them on to victory. Wolves always keep a modest scoreline though, and Liverpool haven’t put more than 2 goals past them since 2012. A slender margin seems almost certain and Wolves have every chance of snatching a goal, just as they did in their last meeting with Liverpool. Our Premier League predictions today suggest you should back a Reds win with both teams to score at odds of 3.25 with SkyBet.
