It’s high-flying BATE Borisov against mid-table Neman Grodno in the Belarus Premier League on Sunday afternoon at the Borizov Arena, in a game that could be a real test for the visitors.

We’ll preview the game here and provide you with all the betting information you need to place some winning wagers on what looks like being a convincing win for the home team. Recent history, as well as current form, is very much on the side of Kiryl Alsheuski’s team, who do not make a habit of losing to Grodno.
BATE have been in reasonable form over the last few weeks, having won three out of their last five games in all competitions. Their only defeat in that run came in a Belarus Cup match against Slavia, when they were defeated 1-0 away from home. Their last three league matches have included two away wins – against Minsk and Gorodeya, in which they have scored five goals and conceded none. In their last home league game, they drew 0-0 with Torpedo BelAZ. They will face Slavia at home in the second leg of their cup tie before their league match at the weekend, so that may have an effect on the players’ fatigue levels.
Grodno won their last league game in pretty convincing fashion, beating Energetyk-BGU 3-0 at home last Friday. That victory followed a run of three games without a win. Those three games included a 2-0 defeat away at Dinamo Minsk, and two draws. They were 1-1 at home to Belshina, and 0-0 away at Shakhtyor. Their last win prior to that run of five games came in the home league game against Vitebsk on March 29 when they won 2-0. Grodno are currently down in 10th place in the league table after six matches, with eight points, two points behind BATE in fourth.
Given BATE’s form over the last few weeks, it is hard to look beyond anything other than a home win in this game. Grodno have endured a mixed bag of results in recent weeks, while BATE have won three out of their last five matches, and only lost their cup tie first leg narrowly. They also still have the chance to progress in the cup, so will be feeling confident. We suspect that BATE will dominate this game, and end up taking the win with a 2-0 scoreline looking likely to us.

Our Betting Tip for Today
Our featured tip for this game comes courtesy of Betway, who are offering odds of 5.75 on our prediction of a 2-0 home win turning out to be true. We think that this is a good tip given BATE’s recent strong form, and also the fact they have home advantage for this fixture. BATE also have extra motivation, in that they are only three points behind table-toppers Slutsk as things stand. With BATE also still in the cup, the prospect of boosting their hopes for a double should give the players some additional motivation.
For their part, Grodno have struggled to score goals away from home in the last month or so. In their last three away games, they have not scored a single goal. Two defeats and a 0-0 draw in those three games do not give us much confidence in their chances of winning at BATE this weekend.
