For our FA Cup predictions today, we’re focussing on Sunday’s game between Leicester City and Southampton. As always, our dedicated team of footballing experts are on hand to deliver only the very best FA Cup tips, predictions and the best odds around.

The current constitution

Leicester City Chasing First Trophy Under Rogers

Leicester City haven’t won this competition since 1982, but they have more than a fighting chance according to our FA Cup predictions. Manager Brendan Rogers is well acquainted with domestic cup competitions, having won back to back trebles with Celtic before setting them well on the way for third before leaving. Injuries remain a problem for the Foxes though, and theft have suffered a recent dip in form, with back to back losses. Despite missing Madison, Perreira and Barnes, they do have a potential match winner in veteran Jamie Vardy.

FA Cup Give Saints Shot at Glory

After a blistering start to the season that once saw the Saints top the table early on the season, Southampton have fallen away somewhat. They now languish in the bottom half of the table, but are well enough away from the drop zone. Their football has been ambitious under manager Ralph Hasenhuttl, therefore while Southampton are 4th favourites in the bookies’ FA Cup predictions, they are definitely the neutral’s choice. With 25 goals and 11 assist between them, Southampton’s trip of Adams, Ings and Ward Prowse could cause problems for the Foxes.

Head to Head

Only one place to start here – the infamous 9-0 away win for Leicester at St. Mary’s back in October 2019. Southampton did manage to bounce back from then on, and actually went on to finish last season impressively. In doing so, they got their revenge last January with a 2-1 win at the King Power. In their only meeting to date this season, Leicester won the game comfortably 2-0. There have been two red cards in the last four meetings between these sides, so some hard tackles could be in store.

Our Betting Tip for Today

For our FA Cup predictions today, we’re backing a Leicester City win on Sunday afternoon.

A First Final for the Foxes Under Rogers

It’s hard one to call, as both sides can claim to be the fairytale choice with a recent lack of experience in the FA Cup as a competition. With a full squad, Leicester would likely be heavier favoured to see off Southampton fairly easily, but as the last two games have shown, their injuries have begun to cost them. Both of these sides have conceded and scored in large volumes over their last three games. Leicester have leaked six and scored five, meanwhile with Southamton it’s the opposite – they’ve scored six and leaked five.

This could therefore be more exciting that some of the cagier semi final’s we’ve seen in recent years. We feel that Leicester have enough to see the saint of though, and are therefore backing a Foxes win with both teams to score at odds of 4.33 with SkyBet.
